Parents

As a parent of a student studying abroad, you will want to know that...

Study abroad expands horizons.

   * Students will be challenged as they share life with classmates and communities of
      differing worldviews
   * Students will build valuable job skills such as adaptability, communication, cultural
training, foreign language skills, and more

Study abroad opens a world of possibilities.

   * Students will learn about Southeast Asian culture indepth and gain a greater
      understanding of their own culture.
   * Students will be challenged as they share life with classmates and communities of
      differing worldviews

Study abroad opens doors.

   * Students who study abroad will make connections with friends and colleagues
      from all over the world.
   * Study abroad graduates are statistically much more likely to find a good job within
      6 months of graduation (90% vs 49%) (1)
   * Starting salaries for study abroad graduates can be as much as $7,000 higher (1)

Students will also be challenged at the deepest level.

Study abroad is a large investment and often large investments bring large risk,
but as students emerge from their studies, they will become world changers.

At Payap University we strive to offer each student a safe environment with
everything they need to reach their potential.

   * Students will live on campus in Paradarnparp International House (PIH)
   * PIH offers around the clock security and an onsite Residential Director to meet
     any needs that arise
   * Each student will live with a Thai roommate to quicken cultural acquisition,
     language, and understanding

Students will learn in a safe environment.

Given the recent and ongoing political developments in Thailand, it is natural to have a sense of worry about the safety and well-being of your children. Over the course of the past 10 years, Thailand has undergone regular governmental change, sometimes by democratic process and sometimes by force. For the most part, the political issues are limited to the capital city, Bangkok. Chiang Mai is far from Bangkok and has seen very few problems or protests. It is a very safe place to be and one of the best study cities in the world.
